&lt;p&gt;Tools are the strongest category on this site, and the Estwing E3-16S is the
strongest argument in it. Most hammer failures are not head failures — they
are handle failures: wood splits, fiberglass delaminates, heads loosen and fly.
Estwing&amp;rsquo;s answer, in production in Rockford, Illinois since 1923, was to
delete the joint. Head and handle are forged from a single billet of steel.
You cannot have a loose hammer head if there is no place for the head to come
